Visible Updates
-
Document Capture Enhancements: AirBadge now requests badge applicants to scan the front and back of identity documents such as driver’s licenses. Applicants can now upload additional images of supporting documentation for certain identity documents that require it, such as an I-797 Notice of Action for green card (I-551) extensions.
-
Fixed Table Headers: Headers on certain data tables, such as badges and badge applications, now remain fixed at the top of the page when scrolling.
- Middle Name Validation: AirBadge now blocks invalid middle name entries such as NMN, NONE, N/A, NA, and NMU. Users will be prompted to leave the middle name field blank if they do not have a middle name to enter.
- STA/CHRC Exempt Workflow: Improved the workflow for marking applicants as STA exempt and/or CHRC exempt during the badge application workflow.
- TSA PIV Card Handling: Per 18 U.S.C. § 701, images of PIV cards and Agency-Issued ID Media should not be retained by AirBadge. Trusted agents are asked to certify physical inspection of the PIV card during document examination.

- Exempt individuals are still asked to certify during the badge application process that they possess an agency ID, however, they are no longer prompted to scan the document. Exempt applicants are notified that they must bring the ID to their appointment for inspection. Learn more.

Administrative Updates
- For airports tracking CBP endorsements: Social Security cards are not valid identity documents for CBP. Applicants requesting CBP endorsements no longer have the option to select a Social Security card as an identity document on their badge application.
- Improved the badge selection process during creation of random-selection badge audits.
- Corrected an issue where badge applicants with Legal Permanent Resident status were incorrectly prompted to provide documents not applicable to their citizenship pathway.
- Airports using badge printing may note faster loading on badge application details and printing screens.
- Renewal Form Expirations: Forms assigned to renewal applications now expire on the same date as the badge application, preventing stalled renewals.
