AirBadge does not capture or store images of PIV cards or other agency-issued ID media. Federal law ([18 U.S.C. § 701] restricts photographing or reproducing federal agency identification, so you will not be asked to scan or upload these documents.
What happens instead
- During your application, you’ll certify that you possess a qualifying agency-issued ID (such as a TSA PIV card or law enforcement credential).
- Bring the physical ID to your appointment. You’ll see an alert reminding you of the requirements: your application cannot be completed without it.
- At your appointment a Trusted Agent will physically inspect your ID and certify in AirBadge that the inspection was completed.
What if I forget my ID?
Your identification document examination cannot be completed without all identification documents. If you arrive without ID documents, you will need to reschedule your appointment.
