How does vetting work when a person holds multiple badge types?

Features & Functionality

One person can hold multiple badges in AirBadge. Each badge can have a different signatory, company, or access level. Different badge types can carry different vetting requirements.

Vetting is tracked at the person level

AirBadge tracks vetting exemptions and requirements by person, not by individual badge. When a person holds badges with different vetting requirements, AirBadge applies the highest requirement across all of their active badges.

If a person does not meet the vetting level required by their highest-level badge, AirBadge will surface this information on the vetting dashboard under Tools & Settings. AirBadge will not block issuance, but your office should have a policy for how to handle these cases.

Recommended approach

  • The recommended approach is to vet the individual to the level required by their highest-level badge. This keeps the person’s vetting status consistent with their full access profile.
  • Some offices choose to flag the person and take no further action. AirBadge supports this, but it means the vetting dashboard will continue to reflect the discrepancy.
