Frequently Asked Questions

Canadian badge applicants

The AirBadge badge application process is designed to guide anyone through the badge application process, even if you are not a U.S. citizen. These instructions are for Canadian citizens who:

  • Are not also U.S. citizens.
  • Do not possess an unexpired Form I-551 Permanent Resident Card (“Green Card”).
  • Do not possess an unexpired Form I-766 Employment Authorization Document.

Step 1: Find your I-94.

The I-94 is the Arrival-Departure Record for foreign visitors to the U.S.

  • Check if an I-94 was attached to your entry by visiting https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/.
  • If you’ve received an I-94, its (Admission Control) number must be included with your badge application.
  • Not every Canadian entering the U.S. receives an I-94.

Step 2: Apply for your badge in AirBadge.

  1. Select “Alien” (non-U.S. citizen) as your citizenship type.
  2. Select “Unexpired Foreign Passport”.
  3. Additional Documents:
    1. If you found your I-94 number, select “I-94 Admission Control Number (preferred)”.
    2. If you confirmed you do not have an I-94, select “Any document with your Alien Registration #”.
  4. Follow the prompts, supplying your Canadian passport image and information when requested.
  5. If prompted, enter your I-94 number.
  6. If prompted, enter an Alien Registration #. If you are unsure about this number, ask your badge office or signatory for the number you should enter in this field.
  7. Continue the application process, through signing.
