A badge application is a legally binding document. Any name changes, even correcting a misspelled name or fixing a transposed first and last name, require a new badge application. Whiteout on paper worked in the past: but that doesn’t exist in AirBadge.
If the applicant and their signatory decide that a signed document should be modified, even if both parties are in agreement to change the document, the applicant must complete a new badge application with their corrected name.
Changing a name in AirBadge includes:
- Replacing a legal name
- Adding an old name as an alias
- Updating their identification documents to match the new name for airport records and TSA records
- Transmitting updated records to TSC for TSA to revalidate the Security Threat Assessment
